April 6 - May 11, Thursday Nights
*Registration Deadline: April 13*
FOUNDATIONS CLASS 101
8:00 - 9:00 PM
This class is perfect for: brand new beginners, folks still perfecting 8 count footwork patterns, more experienced dancers looking to shake off some rust and re-establish a strong foundation, or anyone who wants to start learning their non-primary role.
No partner or experience needed.
Cost: $120 for 6 Weeks of Classes or $25 for 1 Class (New Drop-ins Not Allowed After April 13th)
CORE CLASS
9:00 - 10:00 PM
The swing dance journey continues. The topic of this class will change every session, responsive to the students' progress and needs. Core classes work on more advanced technique including musicality, partnership, body and movement mechanics, refining techniques, and expanding your skill set. Additional vernacular jazz styles are regularly covered.
THIS SESSION: Applying What We've Learned to Social Dance - this session will cover topics including compression, tension, the sugar push, different tempos, mixing dance styles, the effect of musicality on partnering, and bringing your personality to the dance. Our goal is to level up how your dancing feels - by the end of this course, everything in your toolbox should start feeling more connected and present on the social floor.
Minimum Requirement To Attend: Foundations Classes 1 and 2 (Or instructor approval)
$ 120 - 6 weeks of classes
$ 25 - Drop In class
CLASS POLICIES
ATTENDANCE: These lessons build on each other over the course of the session. Some classes cover a LOT of material and missing one can leave you feeling left in the dust sometimes. But life happens and sometimes classes have to be missed. If you miss a class, please arrange to meet with your fellow students or one of our instructors outside of class to get caught up before the next class. We don't want you to feel overwhelmed or frustrated and we don't want to waste other students' class time to catch you up.
DROP IN: Want to try out one class and make sure you like it before committing to six? We welcome Drop In students for the first two weeks of each session only. Exceptions may be made for advanced or out-of-town traveling dancers - please email if interested.
